Well, I honostly haven't seen GiTS, or all of the 'Matrices.'
That is still pretty interesting, however. So, is that the GiTS film? I've seen a few episodes in one of the anime series.
OK, dude, are you doing this on purpose? "Honestly" is spelled with an "e," not a second "o"; this is the second time you did this.
Anyways, The Matrices 2 & 3 sucked monkey balls, essentially.GiTS, however, is a work of genius. The first GiTS film was released in 1995, one year before The Matrix was released, and received less exposure because, well, it was not an American feature. When i first saw it, I fell in love with it.
Then, things got quiet after a while, and though the manga (i.e. Japanese version of comic series) was always available, nothing happened until 2002, when an exciting, new TV series was released, called "GiTS: Stand Alone Complex," where (I can't say for what reasons, since it'll spoil the first film's ending for you), it's obvious we are operating in a timeframe preceding the first film. Some claim it is an alternate universe, but I disagree with this reading of the GiTS canon.
Everything quieted down for about a year after the first season of the TV series ended, and then a grandiose plan - a second GiTS film called Innocence - was announced and released in 2003. The film was masterfully done, building on all things GiTS has done so far; it is set some time after the first film.
With the success of the film, a second season of "GiTS:SAC" was released, called "2nd GIG" (nice pun there, no?) It was much darker and political and, frankly, somewhat worse than the first season (though there were some brilliant episodes).
The fansubber responsible for subtitling the series in English, LMF, quit and left his work to a relative who promply started putting it off, again and again, so it took everyone over here a very long time to see those episodes.
At the end of the second season, a (money-making?) decision was made to release a 140-minute long feature straight to DVD, that would retell the story of the first season, with some new footage and new "remastering" and "quality" changes (that I'm always suspicious about); I have not seen this version, yet. This is all I know, so far; it's good stuff.
Well, I don't know, really. I sometimes spell thing incorrectly on the computer and internet, even though I may spell it correctly with pen and paper. Do you understand? I really don't know why. It happens, and I usually do not notice it.
Well, I guess I should be glad that the first Matrix was the only one that I have seen, since according to you, it is the best. I haven't seen it in a long time. Maybe I should try and watch it again soon, and see if I can pick up GiTS.
I think it happens because people get lazy; they think "Oh, no one cares about spell0ring on the Global Interweb..." - but it does matter, because (unless one is being sarcastic), misspelling is not funny. I shall destroy all misspellers! Well, all misspellers except myself and those close to me; but the rest of you people must die! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Oh, god, don't even think about seeing the other two Matrices; it'll totally spoil your impression of the first film. Try your library for GiTS; I was surprised how much animé, manga, popular music and DVDs our Vancouver library has (let alone non-English materials).
i relay dunt tri 2 speel tihngs rong mike. it r an assidint.
Let me know if you need a translation... I took a crash course in 'n00bish' a few years ago. I still don't understand full '1337' yet though.
Ok, I'll see if it is at the local movie store, or the library. It's on my 'must see list' at spot number one... You know, with it being the only one.
I'll return to work on my little site very soon, probably at the end of the week.
AAAAAARGH. No, I don't need a translation; I need a smack-down dispenser, hehe.
AHAHAHAHA. Well, it's a start (of the list).
Yeah, yeah, take your time - as long as you get to it eventually. ;)
