Nationally, I guess my scheme to create a minority government has succeeded, sort of...only now we will have that asshole Stephen Harper as Prime Minister (read: Bush II) and Paul Martin has quit altogether.
The breakdown of the major players is as follows:
• Conservatives: 124 seats
• Liberals: 103 seats
• Those Bloc Québécois assholes: 51 seats
• NDP: 29 seats
• Some crazy-ass Independent guy: 1 seat (How?!)
I was kind of hoping for a kinder-gentler minority government, like the last time (not!), but oh well. Fuckit. My only consolation is that, like Derek pointed out to me today yesterday, the Conservatives will be internally torn by their component-part interests, since the party was cobbled out of Canadian Alliance, the Progressive Conservative party and the new blood of the Conservative Party proper. Burn motherfuckers, burn!
