the flower lies...

the flower lies
face down
in the sand

the girl on crutches
enjoys the water
  the bald old man

walks circles
(he wants to live
longer

I find
artifacts
in the sand

words
    bodies
  signs

whole families
imbibing
photosynthetic radiation

the hotel stands
monolithic and motionless
it casts no shadow

it has no mass
  it would fill
all space

if all space
could be filled
with the lie of a flower
