To Rod Moody-Corbett

"Good morning," he said to no one in particular.

"Come on, get it started," she said to no one in particular.

"I don't know what else to do," he said to no one in particular.

"The holiday PR pitches come earlier every year, huh," she said to no one in particular.

"They are always working. Don't they ever rest and go to bed?" he said to no one in particular.

"Ah wasted my six dollars today," she said to no one in particular.

"What an audience," he said to no one in particular.

"The world is changing blood," she said to no one in particular.

"We-ell," he said to no one in particular.

"I can't find you," she said to no one in particular.

"I seem to remember that I once had much more authority than I seem to have these days," he said to no one in particular.

"I'm sorry I'm late," she said to no one in particular.

"I went for a ride today," he said to no one in particular.

"Damn it," she said to no one in particular.

"They don't taste the same in cans, as they do from the bottle, but it beats water any day," he said to no one in particular.

"The funeral notices are up," she said to no one in particular.

"Startin' to rain," he said to no one in particular.

"Well, that's all right then," she said to no one in particular.

"Any chance I can get a seat?" he said to no one in particular.

"I'm going to bed," she said to no one in particular.

"Come on," he said to no one in particular.

"I might be getting a horse of my own," she said to no one in particular.

"Don't tell Becky," he said to no one in particular.

"Fish sticks for supper?" she said to no one in particular.

"Agh!" he said to no one in particular.

"Was it wrong for me to want this?" she said to no one in particular.

"What the hell is going on?" he said to no one in particular.

"Once, I was a little girl," she said to no one in particular.

"I could jump right out of this place," he said to no one in particular.

"Wait," she said to no one in particular.
